Dear Parent,
It is August and the reality that we will start school in just a few weeks is upon us.
We thought it would be helpful to send a few reminders:
- You should have received the invoice for “book day” last month. That payment is due in full on or before Monday, August 14. Our paperless book fee plan allows you to pay on line, mail your payment, or stop in the office. To pay online, click here.
- On August 17, parents of third through eighth grade students, please go to powerschool to learn your child’s homeroom and teacher assignment. Preschool through second grade students will receive a separate email from your child’s teacher.
- You should have received an email regarding the new hot lunch program with instructions for ordering online. The lunch order must be complete on August 21. The first day for lunch will be Monday, August 28, so students will need to “brown bag” their lunches the first week of school.
- The order forms for the new gym uniform can be found here. In order to guarantee delivery, the gym uniform order should be complete before August 11. Please remember that this is a transition year for the gym uniform. Students may continue to wear the current uniform for this year.
- School begins on Monday, August 21. Dismissal that day will be at 11:30. We will have full day sessions for the balance of the week.
- Pick up day for pre-ordered book supplies will be on Thursday, August 18, from 6:30-8:00 pm. If you did not order the school supply package, the list of necessary supplies by grade level can be found here.
Although the summer has been all too short, we are looking forward to a great year. We are delighted to welcome four new faculty members who bring both experience and enthusiasm to their new positions. Our Aspire Scores from last Spring arrived last week and we are very pleased with the results. Math scores continue to improve and our Language Arts scores affirm we have many strong readers and writers.
Please mark your calendars for Thursday, Aug. 24 when the Family School Association will sponsor the back to school skating party on the parking lot. Please also remember that Sunday, August 27, is the Parish picnic. Details on both events will follow.
The countdown is on but there is still time to enjoy the wonderful days of summer.
