Funding for St. John Fisher School is based on three major sources; tuition, fundraising, and parish subsidy.  Our goal is to maintain a standard of academic excellence while still having tuition that is affordable for our school families.   Three major fundraisers are essential to the success of our programs; the Magazine/gift catalog sale, Market Day, and the Annual Fisher Feet/Feat Funathon.  The first two projects allow participants to purchase products they would be purchasing normally while also providing a percentage of the sale to help fund the school.  Profits from the fundraisers are used to balance the annual operating budget and account for $50,000 of that budget.

In 2004 the School Board in conjunction with the Family School Association recommended that each family be assessed a minimum $125.00 defined contribution goal each school year.  Each fundraiser generates a different percentage of profit.  For example:

Magazine Subscriptions                    40% of cost is returned to school
Gift Wrap                                       50% of cost is returned to school
Market Day                                    10% of cost is returned to school
Fun-A-Thon                                    20.00/child or $50.00 for larger families

We also encourage corporate sponsorship and encourage families to obtain pledges from relatives and friends for the fun-a-thon

( For example: A family who purchases $65.00 in magazines earns 40% of that total or $26.00 toward their goal.  $250.00 in monthly Market Day Sales would result in an additional $25.00.  A $100.00 contribution for Fun-a-Thon would complete that years defined contribution goal.)  Some families may choose to pay the $125.00 as a direct contribution.

Before the Fun-a-Thon, we will notify each family about the amount of money they have contributed to the earlier fund raisers that year.

An explanation of each of the fundraisers follows:

Manna Coupon Program
Families may receive tuition discounts by purchasing Manna coupons through the Church and School. Many local merchants and chain stores accept the coupons purchased through the school. A percentage of each purchase is rebated to the family toward tuition for each coupon used.

Market Day
Highest quality wholesale meats, produce and other grocer items are available through the school on one Saturday each month. A large corps of volunteers provide fast and efficient service to our customers. All items must be pre-ordered through the school or church.

Ink Cartridge/Cellphone Recycling
Last year, we raised over $4300 from this program alone!  Thanks to all our supporters!   You can participate in two ways:
1. Bring in old cell phones and used ink cartridges of all kinds.  We send them to Cartridges for Kids, and they send us a check.
2. Be a business sponsor — collect your businesses cartridges at work.  We will provide you with shipping materials, and the cartridges will be picked up at your place of business.
