You will be asked to evaluate whether an answer
is "reasonable." At times, you will need to make the
determination of whether or not to round. Rounding up or down
depends on what you are asked to solve, and you will have to use
common sense.
In this unit, you will calculate area and
perimeter of polygons and circles, and surface area of prisms,
cylinders, pyramids and cones. You will dilate rectangles and
predict the resulting perimeters and areas. You will explore and
learn to calculate volume of rectangular prisms, dilate them and
predict the resulting volume. You will determine volume of
prisms, cylinders, pyramids and cones.
