Dear St. John Fisher Students and Families,

It has been a busy summer at the St. John Fisher School. When students return to school they will enjoy many improvements. We are very pleased with the renovation to Kane Hall. A waterproofing project has been completed and new floor tiles have been installed. A fresh coat of paint has helped create a great environment for all.

In addition, we have reconfigured some classrooms to make the best use of our campus. All preschool students will now be located on the first floor of the primary wing. Art classes will now be held in a former minimally used classroom on the second floor. With Father Ken’s blessing, students will now have great acoustics during music classes which will be held in the St. John Fisher Church.

The school is moving forward with improved technology. The incoming sixth-grade students will receive Chromebooks in keeping with our 1-to-1 technology initiative. Junior high students will now have access to mobile labs. To be more efficient with classroom space and technology equipment, we have reconfigured a portion of a computer lab for classroom use. The technology equipment from this lab has been redistributed to classrooms throughout the building.

During the last few weeks of summer we will be busy making preparations as we approach school starting on August 21st. These preparations include a landscaping beautification project. This project was made possible as a result of SJF students winning a contest conducted by Quinn Landscaping.

Our dedicated faculty will be back in the building beginning on August 16 for a series of meetings. Many staff members have already been busy preparing their classrooms for instruction. I hope to see most of you on August 18 or 19 as I will speak at Mass.

Finally, on August 28 and 29 I hope to meet all of you at our Back-To-School Nights.

Thanks,

Jim Fornaciari

Principal St. John Fisher School
