8th Grade:

Monday is Accelerated Math.  On Tuesday, we continue working with angles formed when two parallel lines are cut by a transversal. Next, we will solve for unknown angle measures using parallel lines cut by a transversal.

7th Grade:

Monday is Accelerated Math.  On Tuesday, our 7th grade students will welcome students from Bernard Zell Jewish School and Islamic Foundation School and learn about the similarities and differences in their faith traditions.  We will finish the week working with percent increase and decrease.

Reminders: Report cards will be distributed Wednesday, November 15th . Our field trip to Mother McAuley to see the musical Les Miserables is also Wednesday.

8th Grade

Monday is Accelerated Math. On Tuesday, we begin our first geometry unit. The unit will focus on using angles relationships in parallel lines and triangles to solve real-world problems. First, we will learn the different types of angles formed by a line that intersects two lines in the same plane. Next, we will work with angle theorems for triangles.

7th Grade

Monday is Accelerated Math. On Tuesday, we begin our unit on proportions and percents. We will start with a review of converting decimals and fractions to percents. Next, we will learn how to use percents to describe change. First, we will work with solving problems with percent increase. We will finish the week solving for percent decrease.

This week we wrap up our unit on rate of change and slope. We will finish the unit by learning how to interrupt a unit rate as slope and graphing proportional relationships. Our unit quiz will be Friday, November 10th.  We will complete a study guide in class to help prepare for the quiz.  In addition, additional practice problems will be available our Google classroom.

7th Grade

This week we conclude our unit on rates and proportionality.  We will finish the unit by analyzing and creating graphs that represent proportional relationships. Our unit quiz will be Friday, November 10th.  Students will complete a study guide to help review for the quiz. Additional problems can be found on our Google classroom to help prepare for the quiz.
