REMINDERS:

School Pictures - Tuesday, October 1st

Special Lunch - Wednesday, October 2nd

8th Grade

We continue working this week on integer exponents.  We will learn and work with various math properties using exponents.  This week we will focus on the Product of Powers, Quotient of Powers, and Power of a Power properties. Next, we will begin using scientific notation to express very large quantities.  We will also have a quiz on operations (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing) with integers. A review of those operations can be found on my Google classroom.

7th Grade

We continue this week learning the rules to multiply and divide integers. We will then use integer operations to solve word problems that represent real-world problems. We will also spend some time working with absolute value and order of operations. On Friday, we will have a quiz on multiplying and dividing with integers.

8th Grade

This week we start our unit on exponents and scientific notation. First, we will spend some time working with powers of 10.  Next, we will review operations with integers. We will finish the week learning how to develop and use the properties of integer exponents. Thursday we will work on Accelerated Math.

7th Grade

Our unit test on adding and subtracting integers is Tuesday, September 24th.  Additional practice problems can be found on our Google classroom to help prepare for the test.  On Wednesday, we will start our next unit, Multiplying and Dividing Integers.

8th Grade

We wrap up unit one this week. Our first unit test will be Friday, September 20th.  It will cover absolute value, rational and irrational numbers, perfect squares and cubes, and ordering and comparing rational numbers.  We will review in class using a study guide. Additional problems will be posted on our Google classroom to help review for the test.

7th Grade

We will conclude our unit on adding and subtracting integers this week. Our unit test will be on Tuesday, September 24th. We will complete a study guide in class to help review.  Additional problems will be posted on our Google classroom to help review for the test.

REMINDERS:  No School, Friday, September 13th - Faculty In-Service

8th Grade

This week we continue learning how to describe relationships between sets of real numbers. We will also learn how to use real numbers to represent real-world quantities. We will conclude our unit ordering and comparing real numbers. Our Unit 1 test will take place on Tuesday, September 17th. We will complete a study guide in class to help prepare for our test.  We will also spend some time this week reviewing how to multiply and divide with decimals.

7th Grade

This week we learn how to subtract integers. Next, we will work with multi-step problems involving addition and subtraction of integers.  Finally, we will learn about certain mathematical properties, including the associative and commutative properties.

Reminders: Back to School Night - Wednesday, September 4 at 6:30pm

8th GRADE

We continue this week working with rational and irrational numbers. We will learn how to estimate irrational numbers. Next, we will learn how to describe relationships between sets of real numbers.  On Thursday, September 5th, we will have a quiz on the first 15 perfect squares and the first 5 perfect cubes.

7th GRADE

This week we will learn how to add integers with different signs. We will also learn how to model the addition of integers using number lines, counters, and zero pairs.  We will have our 1st quiz on adding integers and writing negative numbers this Friday, September 6th.
