The Week of September 4 – September 8

8^th GRADE

On Tuesday, we begin our next unit, “Exponents and Scientific Notation”.  We start by exploring properties of integer exponents. We will work with multiplying and dividing exponents using Powers of 10. Next, we will work with negative exponents and learn about the negative exponent property. Finally, we will finish the week multiplying and dividing exponents and learn about the product of powers property and quotient of powers property.

7^th GRADE

On Wednesday, we will have a quiz on adding integers and absolute value.  Practice problems to help prepare for the quiz can be found in our Google classroom.  Reviewing notes, homework, and class work are also excellent ways to help prepare for the quiz. On Thursday, we begin subtracting integers and solving “real world” problems using integers.
