The Week of September 12th - September 16th

Monday we begin the Accelerated Math program.  Accelerated Math is a program that allows students to work independently and review of topics previously taught in class.   We will typically work on Accelerated Math in class every other Monday.

8th Grade

Periods 6 and 7:  Monday is Accelerated Math. On Tuesday, students in will take the Unit 1 - Real Numbers Quiz.   On Wednesday, we begin our Exponents and Scientific Notation unit.  First, we will learn about the properties of integer exponents.  We will learn the rules to use when working with negative exponents and when multiplying similar bases with different exponents.

 

Period 8:   Monday is Accelerated Math.  On Tuesday, we begin our Exponents and Scientific Notation unit.  We will learn the rules to use when working with negative exponents and when multiplying similar bases with different exponents.  Next, we will learn the rules to use when dividing similar bases.  We will finish the week working with positive powers of 10.

 

7th Grade

Monday is Accelerated Math.  We will take our quiz on Adding and Subtracting Integers (Unit 1) this week.  Period 1 will take the quiz on Tuesday; Periods 2 and 5 will take the quiz on Wednesday.  We will spend the rest of the week working on our next unit, multiplying and dividing integers.
