Week of May 27th - 31st

In Reading class this week, we will continue with and finish up our focus and discussion of our novel: The Lemonade War. This week, we will also work on a Book of Knowledge activity as well as work on presenting our May Book Report activity (our Bookmarks) in class. We will discuss and review our novel by working on some end of the novel worksheets and activities related to our study. Our Book of Knowledge activity will focus on the planets and the Solar System.  We will also be practicing our Reading skills with Raz Kids on the iPads this week as well.

*2 more ARs (for 6 ARs in total) were due by Friday, May 3rd.*

*2 more ARs (for 8 in total including at least 1 NF book) were due by this past Friday, May 24th.*

*Students may choose any kind of book to read and focus on for the May Book Report. Students should have had their book report book read & brought with them to class by this past Monday, May 20th. We worked on our May Book Report activity in class last week & we will be presenting these to the class this week. We will also be recording our interesting facts and comments about the May Book Report presentations in our notebooks as well as participating in question and answer sessions.*

In Social Studies this week, we will continue to focus on the different regions of the United States.  *Last week, students began working on a mini Region Project. Students chose one of the regions of the United States to focus on for their mini project. Also, students researched some interesting facts about their chosen region as well as worked on filling out an informational sheet about their region in class last week as well. *The mini Region Project was due by this past Friday, May 24th.* This week, students will be presenting their mini Region Projects to the class. Students will also be recording their interesting facts and comments about the presentations in their notebooks as well as participating in some question and answer sessions.

In Spelling this week, we will be focusing on our next unit: Unit 35. *We will have our test on Unit 35 on Friday, May 31st.*
