Week of May 6th - 10th

Hello!

*I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!*

In Reading class this week, we will be finishing up presenting our Poetry Book Reports. We will also work on a Book of Knowledge activity and continue our novel called: The Lemonade War. Our Book of Knowledge activity will focus on the planets and the Solar System. For our novel this week, we will be continuing to focus on Chapters 1-7. We will be reading and discussing these chapters, as well as working on our student packet worksheets and activities related to these chapters. *Students will have a test on Chapters 1-7 this week on Friday, May 10th.* Students should study their Student Packets, worksheets, activity sheets as well as their vocabulary list in preparation for the Reading test on Friday.

*2 more ARs (for 6 ARs in total) were due by this past Friday, May 3rd.*

**2 more ARs (for 8 in total including at least 1 NF book) will be due by Friday, May 24th.**

*Students may choose any kind of book to read and focus on for the May Book Report.

In Social Studies this week, we will continue to focus on the West Region of the United States. We will be practicing with our state and capital flashcards this week. We will also be reviewing for the test on Wednesday. *Students will have a test on the states and capitals of the West Region this upcoming Wednesday, May 8th.* Students should study their state and capital flashcards, notes, capital clues, and study guide maps in preparation for the test on Wednesday of this week. Students should also be able to spell the states of the West Region correctly without the use of a word bank for the test on Wednesday.

In Spelling this week, we will be focusing on our next unit: Unit 32. *We will have our test on Unit 32 on Friday, May 10th.*
