6th Grade Boys Volleyball Team

One of our school themes is “Fly Like a Falcon”. Falcons SOAR above, capturing an aerial view of what is going on below. We are encouraging our school community to “SOAR above” things that might bring us down, not allowing us to be our best selves and to be mindful of those around us who might need our help and support. We are on a school-wide crusade to “Fly Like a Falcon”, lifting one another up, celebrating the positive interactions, and kind behavior that our students and staff demonstrate each and every day. This week, we recognize 6th graders, Sean Ade, Colin Killeen, Conor O’Hara, Colin Carroll, Ryan O’Keefe, Charle Rech, Brennan Ade, Mickey Rech, Aiden Conrad and Brody Dowling. Last Friday one of the 6th grade volleyball teams was scheduled to play Bridgeport Catholic Academy. However, only three of the opposing players were able to attend. Without hesitation our Falcons volunteered to play with the other team (Sean Ade and Mickey Rech stepped up as well; they were there to watch their brothers). All of the boys took turns and showed exemplary sportsmanship. The boys received praises from the other team’s coach, players and fans as well as the official. Everyone commented on how kind and respectful the boys were. Thank you, boys, for representing SJF so well, for making us proud and for showing everyone what it means to be a St. John Fisher Falcon.
