This year, our school theme is “Fly Like a Falcon.” At school, we are intentionally discussing what it means to be a Falcon. Falcons SOAR above, capturing an aerial view of what is going on below. We are encouraging our school community to “SOAR above” things that might bring us down, not allowing us to be our best selves. We are on a school-wide crusade to “Fly Like a Falcon”, lifting one another up, celebrating the positive interactions and kind behavior that our students demonstrate each and every day. This week we recognize our junior high SOAR Students: Riley Daniher (not pictured), Marianne Scott, Mary Kate McGlynn, Greta Schober, Nora Clancy, Moira Urbon, Katie Malloy, Caitlin Kintz, Olivia O’Shea, Bridget O’Connor, Chloe Mylniec, Sophia Crespo, Joe Baxtrom, Brian Guinane, Charlie Moles, Bryn Peloquin, Matt Malloy and Marty Flynn. SOAR stands for Student Organization and Reach-Out! These incredible Falcons volunteer their time after school to plan events for their peers. They are student leaders, who by example lead our students to ensure our school has a fun and welcoming atmosphere. The students go out of their way to plan service projects, various holiday events, spirit weeks, dress down days, etc. This year SOAR has been forced to get really creative to plan COVID friendly events and activities. They have also conducted all of their meetings virtually! Not even a pandemic can bring them down! We are proud of these Falcons and grateful for their efforts. Keep “SOAR-ing” Falcons…you are making a difference!
