Week of August 28th

Posted on Aug 28, 2017

We completed our first week of 4th grade!  We had a busy, but fun week!  In Language Arts, students presented their "Brown Bag Biographies".  All of the students did such a good job, and I loved learning some new things about everyone!  Here are some pictures of the students and some of their favorite things.

This week, we will have a regular schedule of switching classes and getting right to work! Wednesday is Meet The Teacher Night.  I hope you can stop in for a visit!  I look forward to seeing everyone!

Language Arts-This week we will begin our first unit and start learning about the different types of sentences. Students will also finish up their Summer Snapshots activity. We will also be writing our first Prompt of the Week assignment.

Science-We will begin by learning about important vocabulary and tools that scientists use when conducting experiments and investigations.  We will even take a trip to lab this week!

Reminder-There is no school next Monday, September 4th.  Enjoy the long weekend!

Welcome to Room 212!  It was a great first week getting to know everyone in our class and learning together!  We did lots of fun activities to help us get to know our new classmates.  We also worked in groups and learned all about the solar eclipse on our first day of school!IMG_3764IMG_3765IMG_3762IMG_3763

Welcome Back!!

Posted on Aug 18, 2017

Welcome back to another exciting year at SJF! I am so excited to get the year started and to get to know all the new 4th graders! I'd like to introduce myself. I am Mrs. Kovatch, and I will be teaching Language Arts and Science. This is my 9th year teaching at SJF, and I am so glad to be part of such a great school! This year the 4th graders will be learning many new and exciting things, and I look forward to working together to have a great year!  In the "Important Documents" section of my blog, you will find a letter with some information about 4th grade.  Please take a minute and read the letter.  It gives a great overview of all the 4th grade classes and what you can expect this year! If you ever have any questions please feel free to email me at lkovatch@sjfschool.net and I will get back to you as soon as possible.  I look forward to a wonderful year!
