Hi! My name is Laura Kovatch and I teach fourth grade Language Arts and Science. This is my eleventh year here at St. John Fisher, and I feel so lucky to be part of such a wonderful school community. Outside of school, I love to travel and spend time with my family, especially my beautiful daughter Katelyn. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year together!

Egg Drop

Posted on Mar 16, 2018

The students had a great time last Friday during our egg drop!  The students had to design a solution that prevented an egg from breaking when dropped.  They worked in groups to design and build their creations.  After testing all of the creations, students worked to explain the energy changes that occurred as the model and the egg hit the floor.  We also compared our design process to that of a real biomechanical engineer.
