Mrs. Laura Kovatch, Fourth Grade

Hi! My name is Laura Kovatch and I teach fourth grade Language Arts and Spelling. This is my fourteenth year here at St. John Fisher, and I feel so lucky to be part of such a wonderful school community. Outside of school, I love to travel and spend time with my family, especially my beautiful daughter Katelyn. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year together!

Week of May 29th & Rockets

Posted on May 29, 2018

Our rockets are built and ready for launching.  The students had a great time naming, decorating, and building their rockets.  Thank you so much to our parent volunteers!  I couldn't have done it without you!  Our launch is on Thursday at Beverly Park.  I hope to begin launching at about 9:15.  All are welcome to come and watch the launch.

On launch day, students may be out of uniform.  According to the forecast it will be very hot, so dress comfortably.  Students are not allowed to wear sandals.  We will be eating lunch at the park, so all students need to bring a bag lunch.  With the high temperatures, it would also be a good idea to bring an extra water bottle.

Language Arts-We will be reviewing some concepts this week.  We will also be working on writing our "Mission to Mars" Journals.

Science-Our solar system test is Wednesday.

Spelling-We are on Unit 36 this week, and our test will be on Friday.

Have a wonderful week, and I hope to see you at the launch!

Here are some pictures of us building our rockets!

Notes went home this week about volunteering to help build or launch rockets with us.  In case anyone needs to know for scheduling, both activities will be done in the morning.  We will send a note home later, letting you know if you have been chosen to help.  Even if you can't help out, all are invited to the park to watch the launches.  It really is a favorite day for both kids and parents!

Happy Mother's Day to all our moms!  Have a wonderful day on Sunday!
