Week 2 Updates and Assignmnets

Posted on Mar 23, 2020

Hi Parents,

I hope everyone is doing well.  Since our first week of e-learning has come to an end, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for all that you do and for your continued support through this difficult and constantly-changing time.  Please know that I am available for any thoughts, questions, or assistance as we continue to move through this process.

Some updates for you:

-You can check out SJF’s Facebook and/or Instagram each day for morning prayer and pledge.

-Our art teacher, Mrs. Corley, has created an Instagram and a Facebook page where she will post fun and simple projects that the kids can complete at home.  Check it out on Instagram @artroom_sjf and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/sjf.artroom.1.

-SJF is hosting a Virtual Spirit Week next week!  Each day has a different activity or theme.

Here is a list of the daily themes/activities:

*Monday-Pajama Day! ~Share a picture of you in your favorite comfy pajamas.

*Tuesday-Let’s Read! ~Share a picture of yourself reading a book.

*Wednesday-Work Out Wednesday! ~Share a picture of yourself being active: doing jumping jacks, playing outside, jumping rope...etc.

*Thursday-Kindness Counts! ~Share a picture of yourself doing something kind, like helping a sibling or setting the table.

*Friday-Fri-Yay, Fun Day! ~Get crafting! Share a picture of yourself crafting, drawing a picture, building something, or doing another creative activity.

**Please send or tag pictures to the SJF media accounts.

Finally, I wanted to “talk” to the kids and let them know that I have been thinking about them, miss them, and am proud of the work they have done this week.  I have been learning a lot about some new ways to help me connect with the kids more during this process. If you wouldn’t mind sharing my video message with the kids, I’d really appreciate it! This Screencastify video-making is new to me, so hopefully they (and you) won't hold this first one against me ??.  Here is the link: Hi, Room 212! Mar 20, 2020 2:38 PM.webm

Please reach out if you or the students need anything at all!  Take care!
