Week of March 18th

Posted on Mar 19, 2019

I hope everyone enjoyed their St. Patrick's Day and South Side Parade weekend!  I know that the kids were really excited and looking forward to the weekend on Friday.  We got to wear our "touch of green" and enjoy a show from the Dennehy Irish Dancers, which included some of our very own classmates!

Here's a look at this week:

Language Arts-We will continue working on some timed writing assignments this week in preparation for the upcoming Aspire test, and we will be sharing the pieces we wrote last week.  Also, we will begin our Women's History Month Google Slide Presentations this week.

Science-We will begin learning about thermal energy and heat this week. On Thursday we will be doing an egg drop activity.  The students will be working in groups to design a solution that prevents their egg from breaking when dropped from a height of 2 meters.  The students have already worked with groups to plan what supplies they want to use.  We will be building and testing our designs on Thursday, so students should have their supplies ready for then!

Spelling-We are on Unit 27 this week, and our test will be on Friday.

*The Fourth Grade will being having some fun with the March Madness NCAA Tournament!  If students would like to participate, please bring in a full size candy to school by Wednesday.

Have a great week!
