Mrs. Laura Kovatch, Fourth Grade

Hi! My name is Laura Kovatch and I teach fourth grade Language Arts and Science. This is my eleventh year here at St. John Fisher, and I feel so lucky to be part of such a wonderful school community. Outside of school, I love to travel and spend time with my family, especially my beautiful daughter Katelyn. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year together!

Week of November 12th

Posted on Nov 12, 2018

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!  This is the first week of the second trimester.  I can't believe how fast the year is going!  Report Cards will be distributed on Wednesday.  Please sign and return the envelope on Thursday.  We will definitely be keeping busy this week and getting lots of learning in before Thanksgiving break begins next Tuesday.

Language Arts-This week we will continue our unit on verbs.  We will be discussing present tense verbs this week.  We will also be working on Unit 4 in our vocabulary books.  This week we will also be writing letters of thanksgiving to important people in our lives.

Science-This week we will be studying how the structures of animals' eyes help them survive.  We will be reading and analyzing an article in our Scholastic Super Science magazine entitled, "Extraordinary Eyes." The students will also be conducting a short research project on different animal eyes during computer class this week.

Spelling-We are on Unit 12 this week, and our test will be on Friday.

Have a wonderful week!
