Mrs. Maura Grochocinski, Junior High Religion

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year.  We are all looking forward to a successful school year with your child.

A little about myself: due to the difficulty in pronouncing my last name, I am known to the SJF students and to many of the parents as “Mrs. G.”  I live in Most Holy Redeemer parish and my husband and I have been blessed with three wonderful daughters.

This year will be my 20th year teaching at Saint John Fisher. I have taught different grades and various subjects throughout the years. I have enjoyed teaching religion in the Jr. High for the past ten years, watching our students grow both academically and spiritually.

I'm looking forward to an exciting school year with our Jr. High students and can't wait to see them on their first day of school, Wednesday, August 21st.

7th & 8th Grade Religion-Week of Feb. 13th

Posted on Feb 13, 2017

Confirmation was Beautiful!  The students did a wonderful job with their preparation in class as well as their participation in the liturgy in which they celebrated this very important Sacrament in their lives.

***7th Grade Religion***

This week, we will continue on with Buddhism reading further about Buddha and his search for enlightenment.  The students will be answering questions from informational text read in class.  These questions will then be corrected at the end of our unit on Buddhism and the students will then study these questions to prepare for their test.

***Students should continue to work on their FIVE hours of required service for this second trimester.

***8th Grade Religion***

This week the students will be writing a reflective narrative of their Confirmation day and will be writing thank you notes to their sponsors which will also include a revised and corrected copy of their sponsor essay.

***Students should continue to work on their EIGHT hours of required service for this second trimester.
