Mrs. Maura Grochocinski, Junior High Religion

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year.  We are all looking forward to a successful school year with your child.

A little about myself: due to the difficulty in pronouncing my last name, I am known to the SJF students and to many of the parents as “Mrs. G.”  I live in Most Holy Redeemer parish and my husband and I have been blessed with three wonderful daughters.

This year will be my 20th year teaching at Saint John Fisher. I have taught different grades and various subjects throughout the years. I have enjoyed teaching religion in the Jr. High for the past ten years, watching our students grow both academically and spiritually.

I'm looking forward to an exciting school year with our Jr. High students and can't wait to see them on their first day of school, Wednesday, August 21st.

7th & 8th Grade Religion-Week of February 18th

Posted on Feb 18, 2019

As we near the final weeks of this second trimester, it is very important that the Jr. High students continue put all of their efforts into both their assignments and preparation for tests in all subjects.  All students should continue to write all homework assignments and dates for tests/quizzes in their assignment notebooks.  Let's have a strong finish to this second trimester!

***7th Grade Religion***

This week we will continue our discussion of Buddhism and will be learning about the Four Noble Truths and the Eight-Fold Path which leads Buddhists to the state of Enlightenment.

*All students should continue to work on their FIVE hours of required service for this second trimester.

***8th Grade Religion***

This week the students will finish presenting their saint slide projects to their classmates.  Upon finishing this, we will be returning to our Morality book.  Any students who were unable to complete their Confirmation interviews due to absence or any other reason, will be meeting with Father Ken for their interviews this Wednesday afternoon.

*All students should continue to work on their EIGHT hours of required service for this second trimester.
