7th & 8th Grade Religion-Week of January 21st

Posted on Jan 21, 2019

The celebration of Catholic Schools Week will begin next Sunday at 10:00 mass followed by Open House.  We hope to see you all there!

***7th Grade Religion***

This week we will begin chapter 8 in out Blest Are We book.  We will be discussing the Beatitudes and how they can be demonstrated in the everyday lives of 7th graders.  This chapter also discusses the seven verses of the Our Father, a prayer which expresses our praise for God as our Father, as well as a prayer that expresses our needs and desires to live as children of God who are both loving and forgiving. We will also be working on a project which will be displayed in the Jr. High hall for Open House.

***All students should continue to work on their FIVE hours of required service for this second trimester.

***8th Grade Religion***

This week we will continue with our Confirmation preparation and will continue our discussion about the importance of attending mass.  Attending mass is an opportunity for us to come together as a community to be strengthened by the word of God and to share the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. We will also be looking at various passages in the Bible that discuss the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Google slide project for chosen Confirmation names is due Friday, January 25th.

Confirmation will be celebrated Sunday, February 10th, at 12:00 Mass.   Confirmation materials were distributed to the students last week.  Please note the due date of the various forms and fees. If you have not received this information, please ask your son/daughter about these materials.  All Confirmation gown orders were to be received by Tuesday, January 22nd.

***All students should continue to work on their EIGHT hours of required service for this second trimester.
