7th & 8th Grade Religion-Week of March 6th

Last week we discussed our Lenten promises and how important it is that we FAST from those things that weaken our relationship with God as well as FEAST upon those things that bring us closer to God.  May we all remain strong with our thoughtful promises during this Lenten season.

***7th Grade Religion***

This week we will be continuing on with our study of Hinduism.  We will be discussing the places and practices of Hindu worship as well as the rituals connected to significant events such as birth, marriage, and death.  As we continue our study of Hinduism, we are comparing and contrasting Hinduism with the two other religions we have discussed so far this year, Catholicism and Buddhism. 

***All Students should be continuing to satisfy their FIVE hours of required service for this third trimester.

***8th Grade Religion***

This week we will be covering chapter 8 in our Morality book,  This chapter discusses the the 5th commandment, though shalt not kill, how this commandment pertains to the life of an eighth grader, and our call to be peacemakers here on earth.  This chapter also discusses the Catholic church's view on controversial topics in our society such as euthanasia and capital punishment. 

The first period class who celebrated mass in the classroom last week, will be taking the chapter 6 test on Tuesday of this week.

***All Students should be continuing to satisfy their EIGHT hours of required service for this third trimester.
