7th & 8th Grade Religion-Week of October 5th
Posted on Oct 04, 2020
This week is spirt week! Although we won't be celebrating Homecoming this year with our usual Spirit Week, ending with a pep rally, we will be celebrating the week with various "out of uniform" themes during the week.
Although we won’t be playing the annual Homecoming
Football Game, we want to celebrate being a Falcon and
having the privilege of attending school in person.
SOAR will host a Falcon Spirit Week, starting October 5th.
This will be a week of out of uniform themed days:
Monday, October 5th: Roll Out of Bed Day- Come to
school in your pajamas!
Tuesday, October 6th: Our Futures Are Bright Day-
Wear something from the high school or college
you hope to attend or dress in the clothing from a
future career path.
Wednesday, October 7th: Sports Fan Day- Wear any
clothing supporting your favorite sports team.
Thursday, October 8th: Falcon Spirit Wear- Complete
Out of Uniform, dress in SJF gear!
As we are well into the swing of the new school year, it remains important that students write their homework assignments and test dates into their assignment notebooks. The assignment notebook is a necessary tool for success that should be used daily by all students as well as an additional tool that may also be used by parents.
***7th Grade Religion***
We have finished chapter two in our Blessed Are We book and will be working on various comprehension exercises that reinforce the significance of the Sacrament of Baptism as well as the lessons we have learned from Saint Josephine Bakhita.
*All students should continue to work on their FIVE hours of required service for this first trimester.
***8th Grade Religion***
This week we will be continuing on with chapter 3 in our Church History book and will be discussing the positive outcomes of Constanine and Theodocius' support to Christianity. We will also continue discussing the purpose and outcomes of each of the four ecumenical councils during the 4th and 5th centuries.
All students should continue to work on their EIGHT hours of required service for this first trimester.
