Mrs. Maura Grochocinski, Junior High Religion

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. We are all looking forward to a successful school year with your child.

A little about myself: due to the difficulty in pronouncing my last name, I am known to the SJF students and to many of the parents as “Mrs. G.” I live in Most Holy Redeemer parish and my husband and I have been blessed with three wonderful daughters.

This year will be my 20th year teaching at Saint John Fisher. I have taught different grades and various subjects throughout the years. I have enjoyed teaching religion in the Jr. High for the past ten years, watching our students grow both academically and spiritually.

I'm looking forward to an exciting school year with our Jr. High students and can't wait to see them on their first day of school, Wednesday, August 21st.

7th & 8th Grade Religion-Week of April 30th

The eighth graders will be hosting our May Crowing prayer service this Friday at 11:00, as we honor our Blessed Mother, Mary. All are welcome!

***7th Grade Religion***

This week we are wrapping up our study of Judaism. We will be reviewing tomorrow in class and will be taking a quiz on Wednesday. We will then begin our unit on Islam.

***All students should continue to work on their FIVE required hours of service for this third trimester.

***8th Grade Religion***

This week we will be finishing chapter 9 in our Morality book which discusses the Church's views on topics such as premarital sex, birth control, and homosexuality. The test for chapter 9 will be this Wednesday.

We will also be practicing for our May Crowing ceremony. The students have been given permission to arrive late to school on Friday. They are required to arrive to their homerooms by 10:30.

***All students should continue to work on their EIGHT required hours of service for this third trimester.
