Mrs. Maura Grochocinski, Junior High Religion

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year.  We are all looking forward to a successful school year with your child.

A little about myself: due to the difficulty in pronouncing my last name, I am known to the SJF students and to many of the parents as “Mrs. G.”  I live in Most Holy Redeemer parish and my husband and I have been blessed with three wonderful daughters.

This year will be my 20th year teaching at Saint John Fisher. I have taught different grades and various subjects throughout the years. I have enjoyed teaching religion in the Jr. High for the past ten years, watching our students grow both academically and spiritually.

I'm looking forward to an exciting school year with our Jr. High students and can't wait to see them on their first day of school, Wednesday, August 21st.

The 8th graders are so excited to be the hosts of our May Crowning Ceremony which will take place this Friday at 11:00.  It is always a beautiful ceremony in which we honor the Blessed Mary.  All are welcome to attend!

Things are getting very busy as we near the end of the school year.  It is so very important that the eighth grade students return all of the paperwork and fees on the assigned due dates.

Please note that as mentioned in the letter that went home last week, we will be having a late start at 9:00 for the Jr. High students on Wednesday, May 8th, since we will be arriving home from our field trip to the Holocaust Museum later than the normal end of the school day.  Please have alternate arrangements made for those siblings or neighbors who depend on our Jr.High students to walk them to and from school that day.
