Week of Aug. 29th-Sept. 2nd

Posted on Aug 27, 2016

With a couple of days of classes under our belts,  I'm hoping our students feel well informed and comfortable with both the academic and behavioral expectations in the Jr. High.  Letters to the parents regarding the 7th and 8th grade Religion curriculum and required service are available on my blog under Parent Information.  I am looking forward to a successful year with all of my students and am looking forward to seeing all of the 7th & 8th grade parents on Tuesday evening, August 30th, at 6:30 PM, at "Meet the Teacher Night."

***7th  Grade Religion***

This week, we will be discussing the service requirement of all seventh graders.  We will be starting in out textbook Blest Are We.  We will be discussing the role of the gospel writers, their individual accounts of Jesus' life, and the difference in each of their writing styles.  We will also be discussing the term "oral tradition" and the role it played back in the time of Jesus as well as the role it continues to play in our lives today.

***8th Grade Religion***

This week, we will be discussing the service requirement of all eighth graders as well as the changes in service requirements that have been made from last year.  We will also be working on a graduation project (hard to believe?!) that the students will have as a symbolic momento of their eighth grade year.
