Mr. David Pirkle, Gym

Welcome to Physical Education Class 2018-2019!

I am Mr. David Pirkle, and I am currently going into my 4th year of teaching and my 2nd year at Fisher. I am excited to work with the St. John Fisher community and can't wait to see the smiles and enjoyment students bring to my class everyday!

Friendly Reminder

Parents please have your children in proper gym uniforms with gym shoes. Preschool parents I would ask that we stay away from dresses and skirts during gym days. Thank you for your cooperation.

(If students are not in proper uniform they will be asked to sit out.)

March 2019

Posted on Mar 06, 2019

The third semester is already upon us. Students have been working hard, learning what it means to be active and healthy. We are continually challenging ourselves to get our heart rates up and maintaining that for short periods of time.

As we head into the last trimester we will be playing some handball variation games with our 3-8th graders. These games are fast-paced, promoting teamwork and cooperation, while keeping our heart rates up. Once we finish up our handball games we will be retesting our PACER scores. I am excited to see the improvements students have made in their cardiovascular fitness!

Preschool-2nd grade have been learning proper throwing form and playing games designed to enhance our throwing skills. Once we have wrapped up some of our throwing games, we will be going into our striking unit using different manipulatives.
