Mrs.Carole Scannell Junior High Reading/Language - 7th

My name is Mrs. Carole Scannell and I am the 7th grade ELA teacher.  I have been a parishioner for more than twenty years, and been involved in a few church activities.  I have taught at a few different schools in the area, but look forward to my new adventure here at St. John Fisher.  My five children are all graduates of St. John Fisher which brings me great pride.

Week of June 7th

Posted on Jun 07, 2021

Welcome back to our last week of 7th grade!  This year has flown by so quickly, and I can't believe we are finished.  As we end our last unit on space, we will continue to watch the documentary on the Challenger Explosion for reading.  Every day this week has a different theme which Mrs.Nash has posted.  The 7th grade is in charge of the final mass on Friday, and as soonas I get the details, I will let you know..  Thank you for your continued support this year, and have an awesome summer!

Week of June 1st

Welcome to June!!! This year went by so quickly, I cannot believe that my 7th graders will soon be the leaders of our school...This is a short week because of Memorial Day, but we still have lots to cover.  Remember that we have Rainbow Cone on Thursday!  In reading, we will be discussing two different arguments about space.  The first one is called "Space Exploration Should Be More Than Science Fiction" and our second one is called "Humans Should Stay Home and Let Robots Take to the Stars"  Each of these arguments takes a different position about going to outer space.  We will practice using arguments and backing them up with our facts.  We will also review complex sentences and subordinate conjunctions.
