Week of December 16th

Posted on Dec 16, 2019

Happy Snowy Monday!  The Christmas season is in full swing here in the Junior High, so here is what we are doing this week.  In reading we have started The Giver.  In this novel we are taken into a very different community.  After each chapter we will have chapter questions.  We started chapter One on Friday, so we will start the questions today.  We are going to pay very careful attention to this novel because we will do our Formal Book Analysis when we finish.  I will guide the students along as we do this, so they can learn the process.  In language we are working with different verb forms.  this week we will work with infinitives, past participle and present participle.  In writing the students should be finishing up their essay on the Elephant Man and his courage to face his biggest challenge.  We will take this week off with vocabulary.

Please refurbish the school supplies over break.  Some of the children need a scissors, some glue and colored pencils.  Remember early dismissal on Friday at 11:30.  Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
