Mrs.Carole Scannell Junior High Reading/Language - 7th

My name is Mrs. Carole Scannell and I am the 7th grade ELA teacher.  I have been a parishioner for more than twenty years, and been involved in a few church activities.  I have taught at a few different schools in the area, but look forward to my new adventure here at St. John Fisher.  My five children are all graduates of St. John Fisher which brings me great pride.

Week of February 3rd

Posted on Feb 03, 2020

Welcome to February!!!  Time is flying by so quickly because we are so busy at school and at home.  This week in reading we will continue to work on our formal book analysis.  We are taking each of the characters, and coming up with bullet points regarding their personality, job title, and importance to the story.  The students then take the note cards home and turn the given information into a sound paragraph.  We will continue this with each aspect of the analysis.  I will then give the students a week to pull it all together and bound in a report pocket.  We will also start our next short story called The Lottery.  In language, we are on Pronouns...the six different types;demonstrative, reflexive, interrogative, personal, possessive, and indefinite.  We will practice how to use all of this in our purple book as well as our interactive notebooks.  In writing we are working on our formal book analysis.  We will also begin Unit 7 in our vocabulary book as well.
