Week of January 27th

Posted on Jan 27, 2020

Welcome to Catholic Schools Week 2020!  We have quite a bit going on each day of this week to remind our students what a privilege it is to attend Saint John Fisher School.  Each day the students are to perform an act of kindness instead of homework.  A list of what is expected will come home today.  All acts will be written about and handed back in to me next week.

In reading, we will finish The Giver by Friday, 1/31.  That being said, we will begin our Formal Book Analysis today!  I will hand out all of the instructions and a parent letter explaining what we are doing.  We will work on a different aspect of the analysis everyday in class, and then the students bring that information home to finish it up on their computer.  This is a long range assignment and needs to be worked on every single night.  In language, we have moved on from preposistional phrases to pronouns.  We will work on the six different types of pronouns everyday.  In writing, we will take our formal book analysis apart each and every day and do another aspect together in class.  Then the students will take what we worked on here, and polish it up at home.  We will take a break from Vocabulary this week.

Thank you to all the parents who made it to our Open House yesterday.  We were so lucky to start our CSW off with such a beautiful mass together.
