Mrs.Carole Scannell Junior High Reading/Language - 7th

My name is Mrs. Carole Scannell and I am the 7th grade ELA teacher.  I have been a parishioner for more than twenty years, and been involved in a few church activities.  I have taught at a few different schools in the area, but look forward to my new adventure here at St. John Fisher.  My five children are all graduates of St. John Fisher which brings me great pride.

Week of October 12th

Posted on Oct 12, 2020

Welcome back after a long and restful weekend!  The colors are popping out of the trees and our first half of the first trimester is up already.  That means that progress reports will be issued for anyone falling behind, on Wednesday, October 14th.  All work that is missing, needs to be handed in by tomorrow if you want credit for it!

This week in reading, we will continue to read our novel Crossover by Kwame Alexander.  We have already read through the 1st Quarter, and this week we will get through the 2nd quarter.  Along with reading, we will work on the vocabulary and some character profiles.  We will of course do some questions, and our little 10 question quiz.  In language, we are still working on our verbs, but we will also work on adjectives.  In writing, we will finish up our character trait basketballs and work on some ideas regarding why hard work is a good thing.  Let's start the 2nd half of the trimester off strong!
