Week of November 26th
Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone enjoyed their snow day yesterday and got some extra sleep. Lets hope this doesn’t mean we are in for a snowy winter. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and had time to relax over break, spend time with family, and start to get ready for Christmas. I was glad to be able to spend so much time with my family. I am thankful each and everyday to be able to teach your son/daughter. We have a great class. We have another busy week in 117. For the rest of the week, the info to know is as follows:
Math- We will be working on Chapter 4 adding two digit numbers. We will be having a test either next Wednesday or Thursday .Please continue to practice addition/subtraction with your child. Being fluent in addition and subtraction problems will help the students be successful. Practicing flashcards at home, apps on the ipad or playing Math Reflex online are just some examples of how to practice.
Spelling- The Spelling words for this week are as follows: beef, week, need, seem, seen, sea, eat, neat, seat, read, children, high, city, room, and place. If children use capital letters inappropriately, or write letters backwards, the word will be marked wrong. Homework on Tuesday is 4X each.
Reading- The students will be reading The Storykeeper and People, People Everywhere. The students should read People People Everywhere for homework on Wednesday. Every Friday, the kids will take a vocabulary/comprehension quiz that I will take for a grade out of 10 points. The students should continue taking AR tests. Friday is the last day for ARs for the month of November.
Religion- We be continuing Chapter 8; ways of saying I’m Sorry.
Language Arts- We will be reviewing how to write sentences the correct way
Social Studies- We will begin working on Unit 3; Working Together
Science- We will be finishing up our unit on animals.
