Week of September 3rd
I hope everyone had a great Labor Day Weekend. I hope you had a chance to relax and spend it with family. Open House is Wednesday I hope to see all of you there.
On Wednesdays I ask that parents please sign their child’s planner
Special Lunch is Wednesday, Barracos

1st All School Mass Friday at 1:00 parents are welcome to attend
For the rest of the week, the info to know is as follows:
Math- We will continue working on Chapter 1; Number concepts; place value, expanded form, etc.. We will have our first Chapter test probably Wednesday or Thursday of next week. I will send more information home when it gets closer. Please continue to practice addition/subtraction with your child.
Spelling- The Spelling words for this week are as follows:fell, well, bell, next, went, help, end, tell, send, spell, people, taste, your, live,and made. If children use capital letters inappropriately, or write letters backwards, the word will be marked wrong. Homework on Tuesday is 4X each
Reading- The stories this week are The Wobbly People, and Poppletom and the Grapefruit. The reader will go home on Wednesday please have them read Poppleton and the Grapefruit for homework. Every Friday, the kids will take a vocabulary/comprehension quiz that I will take for a grade out of 10 points. Along with our weekly quizzes, we will also be doing 1 extended response question. The children and I will be doing these together for a while. You will start to see the acronym SLAM. Students should also be reading 15 minutes a night.
Religion- We will continue working on Chapter 1: how are church welcomes us. The students have the Act of Contrition stapled in their take home folders. We ask that you please practice this at home each night as they need to learn this for their First Reconciliation. We will begin talking about Baptism and I will be asking the students to bring in pictures of their Baptism at the end of the week
Language Arts- We will continue working on types of sentences; exclamatory, declaration, imperative, and command. We will start working on word order in sentences
Social Studies- We will continue working on Unit 1; Where we live
