Recap and Reminders

Our students did great practicing all of our safety drills last week! Though it can be nerve wracking to think of those situations, we are better for preparing for them.  We are on to much more cheerful things to think about this week, with lots of fun and learning and a Halloween celebration on Friday!

  • Please dress your kids for the changing weather!  We will continue to go outside, weather permitting, and to keep fighting germs we do keep a window open in the classroom.  Be sure your falcon is dressed to keep warm!
  • A note will be coming home this week about Xtra Math, an online math site that can be fun and helpful for learning math facts. Your childs username and password will be on the note along with more info about how it works.  This can be a fun alternative to flashcards (and something the kids can work on independently for those nights you just need a few minutes to get something else done!)
  • Our iReady diagnostic is complete, and we have been hard at work on our "individual pathways" during our school day.  I will be sending iReady usernames and passwords home this week as well. ( If your child used iReady last year, and you remember their password, it should be the same!)
  • Our Halloween party will be on Friday!  Kids are welcome to wear costumes and bring a store bought, prepackaged treat to share.  We have 15 kids in our class.  More info will be coming home in take home folders this week!  A great big thank you to Mrs. Fetzer for supplying a snack and sending in a fun game for us to play!

Week of September 20th

Posted on Sep 20, 2021

Recap and Reminders

Our spirits soared last week as we prepared for homecoming!  Thank you so much for your participation, the kids certainly enjoyed the festivities at school.  All of our Fisher Falcons have so much to be proud of, we are so lucky to belong to such an amazing community!

  • Please check the fit of your child's mask each day!  We are spending a lot of time every day trying to tie mask straps or teaching children how to adjust the front and back of a gaiter mask so it will properly and fully cover their mouth AND nose.  I know after a summer of outdoor activities, it's hard to get back into a daily mask routine, but it is an essential part of keeping the privilege of coming to school in person each day.  Thank you for your help!

  • Homework folders will be coming home on Monday!  There is a checklist to help you manage the work to be done this week, but please know it is ok to be flexible and fit the work into your family's schedule.  Work should be completed and returned in the red homework folder on Friday!

  • This Wednesday, students may dress down for $1.  We will be wearing gold and raising money for Childhood Cancer research.

  • As mentioned in the Notes From Mrs. Nash, we will continue the iReady diagnostic this week.  Room 217 will take the math diagnostic on Tuesday morning.
