Week of March 28th
Posted on Mar 27, 2022
Welcome back after our beautiful Open House on Sunday. It was so nice to see the church filled with people. This is a regular week, Monday-Friday!!
In reading, we are ending Unit Three with poetry. We have written our own sonnets just like Shakespear, and now we are learning about odes. Next is lyric poetry! Our next few stories are actually poems. We will talk about what is needed for an ode and for a lyric poem. Each of these poems uses figurative language.
In language, we will be covering figurative language. We are going to spend some time on metaphors and similes, plus personification and tone.
In writing, we are working on an argument. The students have to choose an invention, and then persuade the audience on why theirs is the best. They need to present a counter argument on another invention as well.
