Mrs.Carole Scannell Junior High Reading/Language - 7th

My name is Mrs. Carole Scannell and I am the 7th grade ELA teacher.  I have been a parishioner for more than twenty years, and been involved in a few church activities.  I have taught at a few different schools in the area, but look forward to my new adventure here at St. John Fisher.  My five children are all graduates of St. John Fisher which brings me great pride.

Week of November 2nd

Posted on Nov 01, 2020

Welcome back after a crazy weekend of Halloween and Daylight Savings time switch!! This week we start with our test on our novel Crossover, and a reminder that your project is due tomorrow as well.  Then we will go back to our reading series with our short story called Thank You M'am by Langston Hughes.  We will talk about internal/external conflicts and character traits.  In language, we will revisit capitalization with regards to people, titles, geography, and events.  We will also talk about the suffixes ible/able.  We are also going to do some compare/contrast with the poems "I, Too" and "Dream Deferred".
