Week of March 2nd

Posted on Mar 02, 2020

Welcome March!!! What a wonderful weather weekend we had, and the greatness continues.  We have a very busy week ahead of us.  This Wednesday, 3/4 the Seventh Grade will head over to St. Rita for a unique day celebrating languages.  If you ordered Special Lunch, you will get your money back...the children need to bring a lunch to St. Rita.  Also on Wednesday, 3/4 the students will receive their 2nd trimester report cards.  On Thursday, 3/5 Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held after school.  Please sign up for a spot if you wish to speak with the teacher.

In reading, we have started The Outsiders in class.  This will be our last novel, but not our last short story.  The Outsiders is a story about two different sides of an Oklahoma town and how they learn that even though they look different, they really are just people.  This week we will read  Chapters 2-4.  We have chapter questions and quiz for each of the chapters.  In language, we are working with Adverbs this week.  Adverbs answer how, when, and where regarding the verb.  In writing, we are working on a paragraph about declining fish species. Last but not least, in Vocabulary, we will test on Unit 8 tomorrow.
