Monday Thoughts 2/12/18

Posted on Feb 12, 2018

Dear Falcon Families,

Phew!   What a weekend!

The decision to close school is always tough.   I think the local principals and I shared at least fifty phone calls about the decision.    I was grateful that CPS decided to close since we ordinarily follow their lead.   Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Despite the snow, more than 400 Moms and their sons made it to the United Center for the Bulls game, a thrilling basket at the buzzer victory. Rumor has it that there were NBA Scouts watching our talented Falcons who were able to shoot baskets on the floor at the United Center after the game.   Many thanks to Kate Keller and all who helped organize the event.   We are a hearty lot, unafraid to brave the elements.

Yesterday’s Confirmation was beautiful.   All were able to navigate the snow, even Bishop Rasas who came all the way from Gurnee!

Wednesday is Ash Wednesday.  All classes  with the exception of our part time preschoolers will celebrate Valentine’s Day on Tuesday.  We have an all school mass at 1:00 on Wednesday, so we thought it best to celebrate early.    All may wear a touch of red on Tuesday to celebrate the day.

All are welcome for Mass and the distribution of ashes at the school mass on Wednesday.

All who ordered lunches on the snow day will have a “make-up day” on Thursday, March 1.  Look for specific directions in a separate email going home later today.

Stay safe and warm!
