Dear SJF Families,

We hope you had a restful and magical Christmas and New Years! We are back in the swing of things and focused on our academic goals in this new year! Next Tuesday students in kindergarten through 2nd grade will begin to take their 2nd iReady Diagnostic. Students in 3rd - 8th grade will begin their assessment on January 22nd. Our Falcons have been working so hard this school year. We can't wait to see their growth! Students and teachers have been talking about the many ways to intentionally prepare for next week's assessment. Please take a minute to reiterate these tips with your child(ren) before he/she takes the assessment.

  • Get a good night's rest! 7-9 hours is ideal before a test as sleep helps your brain function.
  • Eat a good breakfast! Food is fuel and gives you energy to focus.
  • Make sure you have your headphones/earbuds! Listening and reading the text helps comprehension.
  • Take your time! Rushing leads to mistakes.
  • Just do your best! You've got this!

In looking at our calendar of events, we are going to be a very busy school community over the next 5 months. We are so grateful for our vibrant and energetic community and appreciate all of the parent volunteers and organizations who are making all of these community experiences possible. Below you will find detail on the events that are just around the corner including our SECOND Falcon Fun Run with My Booster.com!!! We look forward to the many opportunities we have to be together! Thank you for choosing St. John Fisher School and for entrusting your most precious gifts to us each and every day. Let’s make these next 5 months something to be proud of! You belong here.

In unity and hope,

-Mrs. Nash
